Trust & Safety

Built to be fair, private, and safe

Mediation only works if you can trust the mediator. Here's how Elerion earns it — and what it will refuse to do.

Confidentiality

What you share privately stays private

Each side gets a private room — called a caucus — where you can be candid with the mediator without the other party listening in.

A caucus is simply a private conversation between you and Elerion. You can share your real bottom line, your worries, and the context behind your position without it being repeated to the other side. This is the heart of the confidentiality firewall: Elerion holds each side's private room separately and does not carry your private-room content across to the other party.

What does cross the table is only what mediation needs to move forward: the offers you formally make and, at the very end, the agreement you both sign. Elerion never carries something from your private room to the other side unless you decide to put it on the table.

Because this is private mediation, there is no public court record of your dispute. Your conversations are encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is limited by strict role-based controls.

A dash means it is not shared. Anything you send to the other side — a formal offer, or the agreement you both sign — is theirs to see. Everything else in your private room stays between you and Elerion.

Safety

Guardrails that protect the vulnerable

A fair process has to be a safe one. Elerion is built to notice when something is wrong and to put your safety first.

Coercion and abuse screening

Elerion screens for signs of coercion and domestic abuse throughout the process. When it's appropriate, it points you to human help rather than pressing on with a deal.

You can walk away anytime

Mediation is voluntary. You are never locked in — you can pause or leave at any point, and nothing you've discussed becomes binding by staying in the room.

Escalation to a human

When a situation needs a person, Elerion can escalate to a human. It is not meant to be the only door — it's a mediator that knows its limits.

Identity verification

Parties verify who they are before they take part, so you know the person on the other side of the table is who they say they are.
If you feel unsafe, help is available now
You do not have to work anything out with someone who is hurting you. The National Domestic Violence Hotline is free, confidential, and available 24/7 at 1-800-799-7233. Elerion refers to this line when screening suggests it may help.
Nothing is binding until both sign
A settlement only happens when both parties agree. Consent runs both ways — nothing becomes binding until both of you sign. Until then, you are exploring, not committing.

AI transparency

What the mediator will — and won't — do

Elerion runs on clear instructions, and just as importantly, on firm limits. Here is exactly what it is built to do and what it refuses to do.

What Elerion is instructed to do

  • Stay neutral and treat both sides even-handedly
  • Never give legal advice — it is not a law firm
  • Get genuine consent from both sides before anything is settled
  • Keep each side's private room private

What Elerion refuses to do

  • Draft illegal or coercive terms into an agreement
  • Invent facts — terms come from the offer you both accepted
  • Favor one side over the other
  • Pressure you to settle when you don't want to

These limits aren't marketing. A separate drafting engine writes the final agreement, and it will not invent facts or slip in terms nobody agreed to — the financial terms come verbatim from the offer both parties formally accepted, not from anything said in chat.

Encrypted in transit and at rest

Your data is encrypted on the wire and in storage.

Role-based access

Strict role-based access controls.

Full audit logging

Every action is logged and traceable.

Identity verification

Parties verify who they are.

Elerion is neutral. It is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. Attorneys are welcome and encouraged — a signed settlement agreement is a contract, and enforceability varies by situation and place, so have a lawyer review it before you sign.
